re: Dogs being left outside.

posted 15th Nov
Both of my dogs stay outside the majority of the time. They both have nice dog houses and the whole carport to themselves. They come in to visit from time to time but they prefer to be outside. They are both extremely well taken care of and go on walks with us everyday. I don't understand how that's "cruel".
Now if they're outside with no food/water and look to be malnourished that's a whole different story. But to say that if you keep your dogs outside is some kind of abuse is very silly. My dogs LOVE being outside..

We have a HUGE fenced in yard. They just run around down there. No fenve. One of them got hit by a car the other day they didnt even take it to the vet. Its still down there. Alive running around. It ran over her paw.

  this.
And they are only going to be "cute" for so long.

The dog we got was an outside dog (we got her from a shelter) she is now an indoor dog lol

I don't see the point in having a outdoor only dog, I know it works for some people but not us

It's law in most states.

Difference of opinion. I agree, my dog is party of the family. But, if raised differently, people feel differently. I have a good friend who thinks it's cruel to "coop a dog up inside"... Because they are animals

Thats generally how I think. My dog loves birds and chasing squirrels and smurf. Hes bored inside the house.

Well thats good.
We dont have laws that apply to only city or county, its across the board here and yea, I have had my dogs in doggie-jail for allowing them to run loose before I knew

I would get one, but you'll need to take it to the vet. Chances of it having worms and fleas being outdoors 247 are very high since they probably never had them checked once they were born. Then I would call the county on them and animal control. There are limits to the amounts of pets you can have even in the country, and it sounds like they are way over the limit and can't afford/have the time to properly take care of them all.

I wish my dog was like that. smh.

If she is done doing her business and you dont come to the door when she gets there, she barks this annoying bark FOREVER. Like it's one time, pause, one time, pause. Then she goes to the front door because she knows I sit on the other side. Ugh!

It's cruel because these people are not providing their many animals shelter while leaving them out constantly

Which is why I said if they're left outside without food or shelter it's a completely different story. But for anyone to say that it's cruel to have outside dogs is wrong. Dogs can stay outside the majority of the time and be well taken care of.

Horrible and cruel. Dogs are family, not lawn ornaments.
