is it rude

To ask for specifics for your baby shower? Like I plan to cloth diaper, so instead of the everyone bring a pack of diapes is it rude to put diaper covers and such. Also last time I got a diaper cake with bottles but I will be breastfeeding and will only need certain ones to pump with. I feel rude, or should I just take it back if I won't USe it?

I just let people get what they wanted and exchanged stuff like bottles that I wouldn't be using.

Not rude at all! Just notate at the bottom of the invites that you "will be cloth diapering and breastfeeding, so please no disposables and bottles". And then of course links to your registries with the cloth diapers you want to go with

No, I don't think it's rude. You could put a note at the bottom of your invitations or something or just return the items you won't use.

I would just ADD in that you are cloth diapering and Bfing so disposables and bottles are not necessary.

No it's not rude lol. That's why people should only buy things off your registry. I made a babies r us registry, and then I made a registry at a local "natural parenting" shop which had my wrap, carrier, and cloth diaper supplies on it.

No one payed any attention to my baby registry and just bought what they wanted

Exactly what I was thnkint. Last time I wasn't even registered anywhere lol so I have no idea.

You could also do a cloth diaper registry and put it on there. Otherwise, I would just put planning on breasfeeding and cloth diapering.

Absolutely rude and completely ungrateful! You get what they give you and you either enjoy it or find someone who does. IF they give you a gift receipt, then by all means exchange it. To tell someone what to and what not to buy...... I honestly wouldn't go to a shower if that were the case. I'd probably cut that person out of my life if it weren't a family member. disgusting!

I don't think it's rude.. With my daughter I planned to BF and CD; DH's side of the family was against BF'ing and CD'ing so they bought me whatever they wanted. They were offended that I asked for gift receipts and that I put specific items on my registry.

That's ridiculous. You make a registry of things you need. If people buy things you can't use, then wtf?!?! You're just supposed to keep it for what?
