Catheter while in labor

If I do a natural birth or just get the IV drug, will I have to get a catheter put in? I know if I get an epi I will.

i did my last natural and didn't need one.

I *think* they only give you one if you have an epidural since you can't get up to use the bathroom.

I don't think so, but I would check to see if it is hospital policy. I got IV fluids, but no pain meds and I was able to walk to the bathroom until I hit transition. My hospital was pretty lax in general, though.

I had an epi and no cath.

I had one with both of mine and all i got was IV drugs but i guess its because i was an induction both times.

I never had one with either births.
