Knitting and Crochet Differences?
posted 15th Nov
Anyone who points out the number of needles gets a bad grade today.
What are the differences in the products of knitting and crochet? I'd like to get into one of them, but I don't really know the difference. From what I can see, with crochet, it's easier to make "things", as in non-wearable items. What can you momma's tell me about the differences in wearable items? Like, what would be the difference in a crocheted scarf and a knitted scarf, besides the the pattern of the clothing created?

i think crochet tends to have bigger gaps between the thread. I know you can do all sorts of different stitches with knitting but i dont know about crochet. my mom does both but she tends to prefer knitting. that probably doesnt help much but its all ive got. good luck

I've never been able to get the hang of knitting but i love to crochet. I just think its easier probably because it's one tool and then you use your fingers. Its not trying to control two tools and use your fingers like with knitting, although that ould be because i am missing a finger on my favored hand. Plus, crocheting has a ton of different patterns you can do to create different textures and weight. I just like it better.

I crochet....and I still don't really know the difference. Knitting looks hard though!
