Sick

Me and my family went to a bday party at my sister in laws and she failed to mention her kid was sick. That was on Sunday. She told us its good for our kids to get sick, that made me angry because it's not her decision to expose my kids to illness. So yesterday my youngest who is 13 mo got her first fever. So now today we both are sick. And I can't help but be super angry with my sister in law.
Anyways, does anyone know of any natural things me an LO can take? Im also EBfing so that kinda limits what I can take.

Well you cannot keep your kid in a bubble

and yes, it can be beneficial for them to get sick. It helps build thier immune systems

I understand that it is good. But it was not my SIL decision to make.

And it's also better most of the time to just let their bodies fight it themselves rather than shoving medicine down their throats.
My mom gave me meds and antibiotics every time I got sick as a kid and now as an adult I have the worst immune system ever.

It is good for kids to be exposed to germs, but she should've warned you, so you could decide if you wanted to risk catching what they had. What kinda sick is it? Flu, cold, ect?

well your SIL does have a point it is not a bad thing for kids to be exposed to germs to build up their immunity, so they can better fight germs/viruses/bacteria as they develop BUT with that said yes she should have told you before hand so you could've made the call yourself to go over or not... but at the same time you don't actually know it was your SIL kids that got you sick... you can get sick from touching anything infected anywhere, anytime   like me I haven't been around anyone with the obvious stomach flu yet here I sit at 35 weeks with a wicked headache, shakey, dizzy and super pukey... it is going around and I have been blessed to receive it

That's most of the reason I said she's a moron. I understand if your kid got sick, but to tell you it's fine... like she's purposely doing it, is just wrong.

Cause if it was just a runny nose or small cough, I wouldn't have kept Cora from doing anything or "warned" people

We have a nasty cold.. LO had a nasty fever yesterday and last night. I only gave her a half a dose of acetaminophen when her fever got to high. And In my OP I asked for natural things not drugs.

Riccola natural cough drops for you. I used baby vicks for my DS when he was sick, and turning the water on hot in the bathroom and sitting with LO in the steam...

Well when we were there she had a bad cough and a runny nose, but it was so bad because her snot was choking her and she threw it up in the trash before we sang happy birthday. She looked like hell.

Poor girl sounds miserable and should have stayed home
