CURED ECZEMA

posted 15th Nov
After 3 years of seeing specialist after specialist, trying every cream available on the market, farmers market lotions, teas to reduce inflammation, oils, wraps, special necklaces... I Have finally figured out what causes my daughters eczema. MILK. I had no idea, apparently milk causes inflammation and is a huge cause of eczema, yet in all the doctors I've seen, I've never been told so it doesn't seem to be widely known. I am sooooo happy. My daughter usually has her wrists and inner elbows cracked and bleeding through out the whole year, with little or nothing to relieve her symptoms. It's been 3 days without milk and it's REALLY clearing up, I haven't seen her wrists in 3 years and I can see them again. Just wanted to let other mama's know in case they haven't tried that.
On to my 2nd question, what alternative milks do you ladies use? My daughter is allergic to peanuts, eggs, and soy so almond milk and soy milk are out. I tried rice milk which she loved the first time she drank it and hated it every time after. I'm not concerned about her calcium intake, since she can still eat cheese and yogurt since it's cultured, I'm more concerned with her Vit. D. intake since the main contributer is from milk. Any suggestions?

Typically if milk is causing the eczema, it's related to a milk allergy. Glad she's getting better though

Well that would have been my first thought lol. Anyway, she doesn't need milk. She can get her calcium and vit D from other foods.

Glad you've found the root cause, hopefully it will go away now that you've removed milk. Regarding vitamin D, maybe just give her vitamins? They do add it to some other products like orange juice and stuff.

I hate that doctors don't talk about / know about all the issues dairy causes =\
green leafy veggies are an excellent source of calcium. if you choose to use a milk replacement you have a few other option (than otherwise mentioned)
Hemp
coconut
Rice

I've heard this too. I'm glad you have found something that works.

I wouldn't be worried about replacing the milk with other liquids if she is still having dairy.

I have been thinking about cutting out dairy for my son, but he doesn't drink milk, other then human milk. I do not drink milk either. I do eat lots of cheese though and have the occasional milk in Kraft Dinner or soup. I'll have to do more research...

That's what I would have thought, which is why I never realized it was milk before. I've noticed it get better when she didn't have milk but figured since she's still eating cheese and yogurt, it couldn't be. Also, she's been tested for allergies and she doesn't have a milk one. It's called a milk intolerance and it's fairly common.

I tried the Rice, she didn't like it and the coconut comes in little cans & is expensive   but I was considering the hemp
