Did you really have the nerve to call me childish earlier? You are taking it to a new level. You know how many times I've had to eat crow on here? And say, you know what? I'm sorry, you're right. Oops.

It's not that hard, or I've said I see your point, I just disagree. Good conversation though.

There's ways to go about it without just answering "k" or "ok". Just slowly back out of the thread, and find something better to do, or say smurf it and keep joining the conversation like a big girl.

Quoting Kkap:" I am due in Feb '13 and am planning on breast feeding strictly by pumping. My reasons are so my husband ... [snip!] ... he is being fed and not having enough. I have plenty ++ of time off so that isn't an issue. Maybe I'm just overthinking it all?"
I just breast pump and let me tell you it sucks. You have to pump every two hours and feed your child every two hours so your doing twice the work. I didn't chose to just pump but like you I was uncomfortable with the breast and people being around while I fed my son so I started off right away with bottles and made a huge mistake. Now my son is five weeks and my milk is dwindling. I have tried fenuegreek and mothers milk tea to increase my milk and nothing is working. You can only do it for a certain amount of time before your milk dries. If I can give you any advice I would tell you to atleast try and breatfeed. I have tried an so many times and have been unsuccessful because my son likes the bottle because he can control how fast he gets the milk. Good luck!

Woah... I just read the last few posts and I don't know what's going on here! Anyways just thought I'd share a semi-positive experience with pumping for what it's worth.
I bf for 5 weeks and pumped in between. That probably helped bring my milk in and increase the amount I had in the first place.
After that, I decided to pump exclusively too. I did that for 5 months. I did have to pump every 3 hours (although I usually skipped one during the night to get a bit of extra sleep if I could). My supply did sort of level off. I wouldn't say it went down but as my twins started eating more, my supply didn't increase as fast as they needed. So I did go on meds to increase my supply and I did have to supplement with an ounce here and there of formula (but remember I was feeding twins too!).
Pumping is a pain in the butt with all the bottles and pump gear to wash, etc., but it helped me in that others could help out with the feeds and was less painful for me. Whatever gets them the breastmilk if you can give it to them I say.
My main suggestion to you is buy lots of bottles and extra pump parts so that you don't have to keep up with the washing all the time. Even if you think you'll have lots of time to do all of it now... you won't! You will be exhausted and feel like all you do is pump and feed baby. The last thing you'll want to have to do is wash that pump stuff EVERY time you finish up pumping!
Good luck whatever you decide.

Sorry... also wanted to add that I only pumped for 15-20 minutes each time with my double electric and that emptied my breasts no problem. I can't imagine doing it for longer!
