Pancreatitis

Anyone ever deal with pancreatitis? Or know someone who has? What happened?

My mom is in the hospital with it and they are trying to figure out why and what she'll need for treatment.

Is she a diabetic, a drinker, or have a really bad diet? Those are the 3 most common reasons I see for it at work. Oh, and gallbladder issues!

She probably will need a few days worth of IV fluids and nothing by mouth. Also pain medicine in most cases. If one of the above reasons are the issue, it should be a relatively fast fix. I hope they get to the bottom of it! GL.

She's not a diabetic, only a social drinker (she thinks that her doctors think she is an alcoholic lol but she's not), and her diet could be better, but it's definately not awful. They said it could be a gall stone in her pancreatic duct or something. Hopefully it's a fast fix! Thanks!
