Would this offend you?

posted 15th Nov

I made this to hang on LOs car seat. We are going to a family reunion this saturday and LO will be 3weeks 3days old.

Would it offend you???

If they really want to touch him they should have no issue putting hand sanitizer on. It wouldn't offend me.

Absolutely not, especially now that it's flu season. It's totally understandable why you would want people to have clean hands before handling your child.

If I had never had a child yes

But now I have had one. Absolutely not.

I would just have LO in a baby carrier so no one could touch but that's just me

No its actually ingenious.. And if someone was to get offended they don't need to touch your child. all you are doing is protecting your child which is what any good mother does.

To me sanitizing before touching a new baby is instinct.

Lmao. It wouldn't offend me but I would find it very over done. Can't you just tell them they need hand sanitizer?

No. I would expect anyone who is holding my child to wash their hands first. If I am in public and nothing else is available, I would require hand sanitizer. Since the LO doesn't have all of their shots right away it is better to be clean and on the safe side.

I've honestly never seen anything like that IRL. All of my friends babies and when my cousins were babies.... everyone just held the baby whenever. Nobody washed their hands before (I mean unless they were doing something that warrants a hand wash... like handling trash or going to the bathroom). I'd probably think you were being a little overprotective, but hey... it's your kid.

Nope!!! it beats the hell out of "hey Dnt touch her face, you have germs!!
SIL kids were very sick (croup) and she was holding her dd. She comes up to me, and i see her reaching out trying to touch my dd face (3 months). That's what i told her...she was so angry with me.she just said "whatever" and went back to her chair (we were at church) . I felt a lil bad, but common that's just not fair ya know!

I would ask them to just wash with soap and water since the alcohol in the sanatizer would irritate baby's skin with repeated exposure and If a baby injests it (ie sucks on hands that have used it) it can be VERY dangerous. I personally wouldn't do it, but hand washing seems like a better option

Nope! I had one on my sons stroller right next to a bottle of hand sanitizer. An elderly woman got offended and told me that germs are fine for babies. But I til her that my son is very sick and I don't want him locked away in a bubble. He's 3 now and I still have the hanging sanitizer, but the sign has come down.
