You'd think by pregnancy number 8, he'd figure out that the "wait and see" approach does NOT work for me---he was all about treating my incompetent cervix and hoping to make it to term but told me you can't prevent miscarriages...

Studies from 2005 and later (SEVEN YEARS of research) show that progesterone in early pregnancy can increase positive outcome by up to 75% for women who have 3 or more first trimester losses and/or documented low progesterone.

He's about average. I've seen a lot of docs...met 2 really great ones (go the extra mile, listen to patient, do research specific to patient) total so far. And a few good ones who are willing to at least not hand me out canned BS. My current doc is not a great doc (I'm havi g to fight, but probably only because my records are SO incomplete---like docs forgetting to put my pre term labor into my chart at all  

The point, there's so much research out there that your doc probably doesn't keep up with it all, so it's up to YOU to do the research and not take what your doc says at face value without backup research!!!
