Learning colors?

posted 14th Nov
When did you teach your toddler colors? And when did they learn their numbers? Any tips or tricks to help them?

started going over numbers before my son was 2. hes now 2.5 and can count to 11. wev been doing letters and colors for the past few months now. he knows most of the letters by looking at them, not in order yet. he also knows most of his colors but he does have problem with mixing up blue and green some times. but he knows the rest of them by there names and even which color was my favorite and his favorite lol

DD is 2. No matter how hard I try to convince her, every color is green. She counts to five, but only if she is counting chickens or pumpkins. We try though.

My DD is the exact same way! Everything is green.

She's 28.5 months and can count to 5 as well.
She also knows her all alphabet.

i think it depends on the child. my daughter will be 3 counts to 28 knows her colors and shapes. she picked a lot from shows like dora, but i also always tired to use the numbers on a daily basis and the color she was wearing since she was about 1 1/2.

I started about 18months. I would sit down with him with all his toys and seperate the colors and say the color and show him, we did sign language since 9months so i would sign, say the word and show at the same time.
When we were out, i am very descrptive, as in, that is a a Yellow School Bus. Thats a Green light, Thats a Brown dog, etc so he learned alot more things to

Counting..
We lived in a two story so as we would go up and down,we would count each step, one, two, etc..
And same with learning colors, i would say ok, lets get 3 green toys

I would have thought they would learn colours before numbers or is hat wrong? Seems like most of you taught numbers first?
