re: Am I being overly dramatic

I would feel like smurf if there was a possibility I could lose one of visible teeth tbh. I mean idk if I would become suicidal over it but I would cry.

Maybe perspective would help? At least you're not permanently disfigured or scarred. I know it's hard for a woman because that's her smile and who she is. Even if its temporary, it's still fixable at some point!.

Good luck though and I hope you dont have to pull it!

They can take an impression before they pull it and have a flipper with that missing tooth on it within a week, maybe two tops. I was missing 1 of my very immediate top front tooth from the day before my 16th birthday until I was 20, then I had my second front tooth pulled and got implants in them both. But for 4 years I had a flipper (like dentures) that just had the missing tooth(teeth) on it.

I know what its like to be ashamed of your smile... but it DOES get better. Additionally, see if any dental schools around you can help out. They can help you get work at a discount!

I didn't mean suicidal like "imminent threat of death"

more like "crawling into a hole and never leaving my apartment again"

I think I'm going to have to deal with this pain until monday, if I can bear it.

I have some leftover vicodin if i need it. And I have a regular initial exam with a new dentist on monday.

I don't want them to pull it before then becasue I have to go to my cousins memorial on sunday

Most cosmetic dentists have a care credit option.
My best friend is a beautiful girl, she's a cheering coach for UCA so she travels all over the country holding choreography and stumbling workshops and works at camps and stuff. Three weeks before my wedding she fell out of a stunt and lost her three front teeth on the top. And she was a bridesmaid in my wedding.
She was really self concious about it and thought she would just skip the wedding to avoid pictures, but a few days after the accident she had some temporary replacements made (they cost about a grand) that just clicked in and out. Whcih served the purpose for about a year until she could save up for her permanents. Then she had to go through a few surgeries to have her permanent implants put in but they look beautiful.

Yep, I would deff feel like that. I felt like that when I was 17 and had to get 10 stitches under my eye, but I got over it and moved on. It was deff hard at first. Now you could never tell I had such a cut under my eye that needed stitches, I got lucky that the doctor stitched me up so well.

I would try to wait it out if you could, especially if you would feel uncomfortable at the memorial with it out.

I know they are a ton of money but the temporary replacements are more reasonable.
I would be devistated if I had to lose one of my visible teeth, too. I'm sorry op.

There is no way, unless I won the lottery, that I would ever be able to afford implants

I'd have to live with the temps forever

I see. I'm sorry. I hope you find a solution you can be happy and painfree with.

My husband has bad teeth and missing half of his front teeth so he has like 20% of them. They are still there but he hates them I think they give him caricter. If it hurts momma have it pulled. I know I would.

You are not making a big deal of this - like I said, I know exactly how that feels.

So how much in terms of Tylenol dosing are you taking?

I don't think so. Especially being a woman and ya' know how society is over a woman's looks.

I would try talking to the insurance company about covering a fake tooth. Let them know about your depression about it. It is cheaper to cover the tooth than to cover a trip to the ER b/c of your depression.
