Life gives me a headache

posted 14th Nov
I took bailee to the doctor today.
She has an ear infection, which she gets alot.
So now we have been reffered to a ENT doctor to get her ears checked to see if she needs tubes. Her doctor said that if she does need tubes, she thinks thats why bailee cant pronounce things right because her ears are stuffed up and cant hear well. When I clean her ears, everyday, they are always nasty. So now off to childrens hospital soon...

Plus we have to go back to the cardiologist to get her heart looked at again by a different doctor. Shes concerned about how loud it is and when bai gets active she breathes really hard. The first doctor who saw bai was calling her fat the whole time and didnt even seem concerned. When delilah went to her cardiology appt (diff dr), her doctor was concerned about bailees heart. He listened to it and asked why she didnt order a sono

Now... Im just ranting. :/

The dirty ear thing has nothing to do with needing tubes or not. The fluid is behind the ear drum and cannot be pulled out or seen by the eye, lol. And FYI it's not good to clean your ears (or child's ears) with a q-tip daily or at all.

Good luck with everything.

I use baby q-tips and if I dont clean them, brown gunk sits outside her ears. you can see it thats how bad it gets

I dont have to go inside her ears, its drains all out. Its dark brown gunk that just sits there. its gross and she picks at it so I clean it for her

Lol) but I don't want to just let it sit in there! He has had a couple hearing tests now and his hearing has gotten much better after the tubes as well

He was 14 months for his first appt there and they looked in his ears and schedule the surgery, no hearing test that early but he had one after his tubes fell out and once again when they we be back in, about 3 months ago and they are so friendly and helpful. They made his hearing tests into games and when he heard something he got to throw the ball or drop the block into the bucket etc. he loves all of his doctors now, he is never scared or afraid to go (I guess because he has been sooo much   milk and dairy allergy, tubes twice, hernia repair surgery- he has been to his fair share of appts for sure!) one thing that really helped was putting his ear drops in our pockets for a few minutes and warming them up before putting hen in & putting them in while he was asleep (we still do that!)

Oh wow well Bai is 2.5 so I know it'll be different. Was there aftercare after the tubes were put in? How long was the surgery? I wanna know these things just in case

Aftercare wa the drops, if she has infection at the time of surgery they will do 7-10 days of drops for twice a day. As far as very thing else, the only thing you have to worry about is ponds and lakes she will need ear plus to swim because of the bacteria in the water, our Ent said that tub and pools are fine. As for the surgery both times was about 15 minutes for the surgery, half hour to hour for recovery then home. We spent more time waiting to go in for surgery then we did in surgery and recovery. She will be cranky so most likely a cuddle day and she will probably have drainage which is a sign that the tubes are working. They normally schedule the kids surgeries super early since they have to fast the night before so we were at the hospital by 6am and home by 8:30 am. Let me know of you have any other questions!!

Her ENT appointment is Nov 26 at Childrens.
They said she will be doing a hearing test.

I just hope everything will resolved and we have some answers
