I'd be a little concerned personally. I'd call early intervention and see what needs to be done to get an evaluation. My daughter was in therapy for a little over a year due to a speech delay. It's a great program and they can see if there are issues and offer you free therapy to help with them.

Yeah, I'm really concerned at this point. I just don't know who to go to about it. Do I call her pedi office? Sorry, I'm a new mom hah

i would be talking to her pedi about it at soon. my DD wasnt talking well at 2 and they kept telling me she's fine, but i knew she wasn't. we saw 3 different pedi's and finally the last one had me go to an ENT specialist and it turned out DD had slight hearing loss from ear infections when she was a baby. they wanted us to get tubes in her ears, but we went to a chriopractor first and he made some adjustments to her neck and throat and the fluid in her ears went away by her nex appointment, then we got her into speech therapy. she's doing really well now.

What state do you live in? I can get you the early intervention phone number. It's different in every state. I'd start with putting in a call there. However, they'll probaby want her hearing checked, so you can set up a pedi appointment too.

I wouldn't worry! If she knows colors shapes and counts, I'd say she is just choosing not to call you by name. My daughter was 18 months before saying mommy but would say almost everything else. She is also our only so didnt really hear other kids saying mom, dad etc. Once we went on vacation with friends who have young kids did she finally pick it up, and has never stopped!

This is a basic link. You click on the "choose your area" or whatever, and pick a place close to you. If it's the wrong number, they'll be able to give you the correct one for your region.

No problem. Like I said, my daughters been in this program for over a year now and you wouldn't believe the change. At 18 months she was WAY behind. Her language was that of a 3 month old and they were seriously considering autism. She is now just shy of 3 years old and it on track or way ahead in every area.

I'm in California too, so if you ever have any questions about any of that feel free to ask! My daughter has been in therapy for over a year now and we're currently going through the evals for the school district (since she ages out in January).

awesome!
he's already had all his evaluations done, and a coordinator is coming to our house today to sign papers, so he should be starting therapy soon.
how long did it take until you started to see a difference in your LO?
