Caster Oil

What does everyone think about using this to induce labor once you have gone over your due date? I'm in-between about it right now, no one in my family has done it. And no one I know has done it. Good, bad idea?

No. Not unless under proper supervision.

I suggest you read through the whole thing. At one point she gives a recipe. It's like 1 shot vodka, 1 shot castor oil, in a glass of orange juice. Apparently the vodka negates the diarrhea lol

Anyway, I'd only recommend it if you're over 2 weeks overdue, or like her if your water had been broken for a while and nothing's happening (hers was over a week I believe).

I was 5 days late w/my first and 10 days late with my second. It never crossed my mind.

I took it at 41 weeks. It didn't do smurf, literally. I didn't even get the smurfs, DH did. 
It didn't start contractions. Labor will only come when that baby is ready! Save yourself a night of may or may not sitting on the toilet for six hours and that nasty taste you can't get out of the mouth for DAYS. ITS NASTY! Bad idea!

Eh I would never do anything that could possibly hurt myself or the baby but that's me personally. But it is your prerogative

I'm a huge advocate, if it is used to avoid medical inductions. I had great success. I guess you never know unless you try it. ;-). My labor story is on my profile.

Lol infamy on BG! Kidding lol. But I will admit I was scared to death to try it because of all the horror stories I read on here. It wasnt so bad though :-)

If you actually do research on it you'll find that most of the rumors on here are false lol
