Calling your children names D&D

Okay I was in a thread earlier this week, where someone about took my head off, because I jokingly called my child my demon spawn. I don't say it to her face, but even if I did, she would know its in a joking manner. I have also called my oldest daughter a bitch, and you know what she did, she laughed and said takes one to know one (she is also almost 15).

I have 2 friends who call their child heathen (you 2 know who you are  )

So what are your thoughts on this?

I call my kids names but not within earshot and not to their faces. Ever.

The worst thing I have ever said TO one of them is "you smell like poop"

I would never call my kid a bitch. I may say to SO that she is acting like one but never call her that to her face. The demon spawn thing, meh I think most kids are demon spawns

Eh, we call DD the demon every once in a while, when she's having a difficult day. It's all in joking, and honestly, there are days where I really wonder about this kid...

I kid, I kid. But on her bad days, yes we have called her little demon or hellspawn before.

I would never call my children anything other than their names or something that shows that I love them.

I see nothing wrong with it at all. Now if you were to call them a mother smurfing smurf or something along those lines there would be a problem. I call my baby a demon all the time. My older two always say dont wake the demon baby lol.

I am sure everyone has said something along those lines but as long that they know that you dont mean it. I am not saying is right but I also know we are not perfect and sometimes it slips out of our mouths. Now if you say it all the time just because then there is a problem.

My mom called me a bitch a lot, and it hurt. But I can totally see if the child actually knows their parent loves them and is playing. My mom however has always lacked in the caring about me department.

I have called my oldest (5) rosemary's baby in a private convo to my dad lol I think it's better than calling them actual offensive profanity. My kids have heard me curse and they tell me.it is bad and correct me so they know right from wrong but I still can't put a filter on my sailor's mouth

I have called DD a "butthead".

Thoughts on this? Who cares. I call my oldest (4ish) my devil child bc that's how she acts. Oh well it doesn't hurt her feelings its a loving nickname.

I call my son a turd all the time. He is only 6 months so he has no idea what i am saying lol as long as i say it with a smile he is all good lol. People just need to relax you are just joking. I see nothing wrong with it
