Easy healthy meals for my big baby
posted 14th Nov
DD will be 1 on December 5th and I've just now started introducing table foods. She only has her bottom two teeth in and I'm just terrified of her choking :/ So far I've given her a couple different Gerber Graduates food trays and she loves the snacks but I can't help but feel those things aren't the healthiest. Me and Daddy don't eat very healthy (which I KNOW we need to change), so I don't like giving her what we eat. What are some easy, healthy meals/snacks I can make for her?? I'm not the best of cooks but I'm working on it ! Hahaha

We pretty much just gave our kids whatever we were having, but cut up in tiny pieces. She may only have 2 teeth, but don't let those gums fool you...they are strong and can "chew" things pretty well. And knowing your all eating the same things may help you with your healthy eating too.

Veggies (green beans and peas are my daughters fav) especially canned ones. Ravioli, baked chicken, any pasta, fish. Just make sure everything is cut into small pieces. You do not need to cut up canned veggies they are soft.

I'm definitely using this as a little kick in the ass to get started on us eating healthy too haha

any type of pasta is good just cut it up, bananas, peas, broccoli the tops not the stalk, potatoes (sweet and reg), strawberries, oranges, crackers, soups, scrambled hamburger, rice things that don't take a lot to chew so they can learn.
The only thing my son had a problem with at that age was grapes because he would gage on the peals.

We're going to try some ravioli for lunch today, we'll see how that goes haha. She wasnt picky when it came to her baby foods but I seem to be having a hard time getting her to try things with new textures. She'll spit it out -_- She did love her peas from her little Mac n' cheese tray but I'd like to start making her meals myself. I like to know exactly what is going into my baby's belly. I'm beginning to dread meal time :/ and I won't eat til she's asleep because I KNOW she'll whine for my food, which is usually like a pizza pocket or ramen :S
