Is this selfish?

I just read about a woman who wants to give her baby up for adoption because her doctor said she'll need a c-section and now she feels like she can't bond with the baby.

Would you consider this selfish?

I would consider her an idiot!

I would conside that stupid. She will carry that baby for 39 weeks and have it its whole life and she says she can't bond because of a 15 minute birth? Crazy.

I wouldn't consider it selfish I would just consider it dumb. She doesn't know beforehand whether or not she is going to bond, regardless of the method of birth.

Misguided at the very least, and probably selfish. There's nothing sacred about vaginal birth to make it the only thing that allows you to bond with a baby.

That sounds very immature to me. Everyone is scared of birth either c section or natural but i know i would feel and i'm sure all mother's would agree you do what you have to do to bring a healthy baby into the world.

Wow....what an idiot! My mom had a c-section with both my brother and me and she didn't have any issues bonding with us. I am about to turn 31 here in a couple of weeks and I have ALWAYS had a strong bond with my mom. Again, what an idiot!
