My son was in nicu for 6 weeks I didn't even see him when I dellivered, they took him and ran to other side of room, and he was off for transport, I seen him for 1 minute before they left with him he was already intubated, I knew I wasn't going to have that bonding time from the middle of my pregnancy... and was prepared for it, I wasn't allowed to bf or even hold him till he was 3 weeks old... giving him away never crossed my mind, even when dr.s told me what was wrong with him, he was my baby,

I think it's the fear talking. Once she saw that kid I bet she'd come out of the damn hospital bed, stitches and catheter and all, if someone tried to take that child into services

That's why I asked.
Everyone's saying she's being selfish, but I see it more as stupid.

Im scared to death about labor and birth but i would go through hell to get my baby here healthy. i could never imagine saying that no matter what emotions i was feeling. but your probably right she's talking out of fear and stupidity.

Wow that's incredibly stupid.

I guess I should've given up both of my babies for adoption since they were both born via c-section, eh? I'll let them know that we haven't bonded like kids who were born vaginally.  

And TBH, I'm more bonded with my kids than I am with my mother who had me vaginally.

I can imagine it being fear, fear makes you irrational (ie stupid). I was scared off motherhood entirely because I was so sure I wouldn't bond and I'd resent my faultless infant for my body's changes and the discomfort of pregnancy and delivery and all the societal pressure of being a mom. I don't think that way now.

Well... some people have really bad birth experiences. Like, horror stories. They need counseling and smurf. I'm not saying it should be more important than the child but birth is an experience and like any other, not all of them are good. Or even tolerable, sometimes.
