Going back to scent free?

Christopher's skin gets red and rashes out EVER fall/winter. We use regular Tide and Bounce Dryer Sheets throughout the year, but I am debating if I should go scent free on his stuff for the fall/winter months like the Tide Free & Clear stuff? Thoughts? Will it even help? I wonder if his skin is just extra sensitive in the fall/winter? Should I also switch to a scent free lotion or thicker lotion of some sort for the fall/winter? We normally just use Johnson's Lavender because it smells good not cause he needs it, but I hear it's drying so I wonder if it's making it worse. Thoughts and ideas? Eucern lotion is out of the question. Stuff is so greasy I refuse to touch it.

He is crashing out most likely because the air.is.dry get a humidifier for gota room and get a more moisturizing soap and lotion

Is it patchy or just dry all over? My son ahs excema, which looks patchy and super dry. We use the Eucirin body cream in the tube. Not the cheapest but one application of it and the dry skin's gone. We live in WI where winters can be harsh. As far as detergent, try one thing at a time. He may just have extra dry skin and not sensitive.

I would say its not the detegent/softener, my LO's skin gets the same way in winter time. I use gold bond ultimate healing w/aloe   his pediatrician says its not eczema but I'm kinda thinkin it is, he says 'you may just hafta lotion him up 6 times a day' has he lost his damn mind!?! Lol

Johnsons is SUPER bad for their skin!

Go with Aveeno ((the creamy body wash))

Also, don't dry him off after his bath and just put lotion straight on him. Aveeno has a night time lotion as well with a little scent.

What about wash for his hair? Does it matter?

I used the creamy aveeno for that as well.

They have a shampoo..my my Chris has a sensitive scalp as well so the creamy body wash is better for him.

every winter when it gets really dry my skin gets red, dry and my eczema acts up(i know he doesn't have that but for me that's on top of the red itchy skin)... what i do to help is i only use soap when showering in places that NEED it(no soap on arms, legs, etc.) then i sometimes use lotion(i always forget), but that in shower lotion from olay or loreal? can't remember which works great but i know he's a kid and his skin is different... talon's skin gets insanely dry too and he hates putting on lotion i feel so bad for him
