When it concerns not only money but over drafting your bank account, you're not overreacting at all. I would be livid if DH did that. He doesn't need to tell me when he buys something but if something is over a certain amount, even though I do the budgeting, we talk to the other one about it first. Your DH is being very sneaky and that's never good.

What in the world? Yeah I'd be mad. If he knew it was negative why would he keep withdrawing?

I don't care what the money being spent on, if we have it. If our bank account is being over drawn, that is NOT ok. Unless it's being spent on food or necessities (we never over draw so it's never an issue in our house).

Did you ever find out where the money was going. This is why me and dh have seperate accounts...

DH and I know better, we have the common courtesy to tell each other expenses like that...not because "we have to" but because it's the right way to do things.

I would be furious! that's a lot of money unaccounted for and the overdraft fees are ridiculous nowadays.

DH overdrafted our account once and he immediately told me because he didn't want me to overdraft it again since you get charged per transaction.

Well that's kinda smurffy. Does he have a past of gambling or something? Not even allowing a grown man to have any type of access to his money is crap.

He's being extremely sneaky and that is what bothers me the most I think. Has he ever cheated on you before? Does he have a gambling or drinking problem?
