Ask if you can bring your mom. If not then it's time to stand up for yourself and your child and say NO we are spending the day with my mom, we will be over the next day or spend Christmas eve with her family and Christmas with yours

I think your wife is being a bitch. I straight-up told SO to pick a holiday to spend it at his moms house because the other one was at my dads. If she won't go with you, I'd go alone...

its a 5 hour drive between families so....cant really split the day.
if i could take my kid i would...but i dont want to start smurf up between families...its just a smurfed situation and a pity my wife doesnt see how unreasonable she is....my mother wont drive down there im certain, and no i didnt explain the situation to my mom b/c i kinda want to keep the drama down i dont want to tell mom the truth coz ...to be honest mom would start disliking my wife and i just hate drama and ...ahh man...lol xmas is suppose to be fun no?? this sure isnt . thanks again for alll the replies! this site is awesome...hehe umm sorry im not doing direct replies to ppl im kinda stupid on here and dont know how...yet....its my fist time using this site so...

You need to tell them how you feel! Don't let them walk all over you. It isn't right. TELL your wife how things are going to go..you don't need "permission". Explain to her that your family is just as important. Try reversing the situation..ask her how she would feel if you did the same thing to her and left her with no options.
