yeah absolutely it could be caused by a rupture ... especially if there was fecal matter in the amniotic fluid (which presumably there was with feotus being in distress). Or the infection could have been what was causing her to miscarry.
Unfortunately there's nothing about that.

Right?! Im glad that in america we are overworried about things and over cautious about stuff like that.

That's murder imo. They killed this woman over their beliefs. Makes me sick to my stomach.

It's a no-brainer. They should have terminated the pregnancy and then aggressively treated her with antibiotics.

It's simple common sense.

I'm not sure where I stand. I don't agree with the law at all but if they can't legally terminate and they didn't think her life was at risk it sounds like their hands were tied. They started her on antibiotics but you can't tell the way an infection is going to go. I had some random infection a few years ago, they had no idea what the cause was and it wasn't responding to the antibiotics. I didn't die obviously but I was very sick. What if the infection wasn't even from the miscarriage? What if she was already sick and the miscarriage was part of a massive aggressive infection that was already taking over? Terminating might not have changed anything. I'd just need to know more before calling it murder, too many what if's. . I imagine the hospital was worried about lawsuits and fines which without knowing the eventual outcome is understandable. It's a very sad situation.

Is there going to be a lawsuit? If so it should be a wrongful death suit. I don't care if it is a Catholic or whatever else country religious beliefs are not a justification for substandard care. Especially when it leads to suffering and death.
