Adopt a family for Christmas

*****Unfortunately I am unable to adopt anymore families at this time due to not enough people adopting families****


I know there are plenty of families on BG who do not have much for Christmas. I would like to collect those families into a list and find more fortunate families to "adopt" them for Christmas. I see no reason to list a dollar amount to be set. If you are willing to adopt a family, please consider the fact that you may get a family who's child does not have anything other than what you are providing for Christmas.

*I will not be accepting new members as adoptable families. Sorry, but I need to know you a little or be able to verify that you are an active person on BG.

Below are the rules.

Families in Need:
-PRIVATE MESSAGE ME ONLY.
-List each child and their NEEDS. (Winter coat, hats, gloves, diapers)
-List each child and their WANTS. (Puzzles, books, crayons, ect)
-List a brief paragraph about your family
-Be sure to list your childrens ages, sizes for clothes, ect.

Families that want to adopt:
-Post in the thread below, or Private Message me that you would like to participate
-Include your families size capacity. If you want to help, but you can only afford/want to assist a family with 1 child, please make that known.
-If you do not mind taking on a larger family, please list that as well.

This shall remain ANONYMOUS. If the family in need asks AFTER Christmas I will email the family who donated and make sure it okay with both parties to connect them.

It will be up to the PARENT receiving gifts how those presents will be delivered to the children. This means the parents can give the presents "from Santa" or "From Mom and Dad" or "From Gumby" whoever they want! However, I hope families all take this time to put generiousity into your families mouths and hearts.

If a family who is adopting has additional questions about needs I will be the point of contact.

I organize a local family adoption of 600 children every year. I received my list of 598 kids last week and they have all been adopted. I am very capable and able to handle this and I really hope other families get involved.

Awesome idea.

I already have 2 families and a senior that me and my kids adopted for this Christmas.
Wish I could help more, But good luck to all of thosewho jump on board. Its an amazing thing!  

I wish we had the money to do this for another family but I just wanted to say that his is such a wonderful thing your organizing. And to whoever is able to do that for a family that is so great of you.

Yes! I have adopted out 2 families already. I have 3 more families waiting to be adopted.

Is it possible to adopt a family and just send them the money to get their Christmas gifts? Or a gift card, I guess?

Absolutely!!!

I would love to, but I was burned by a BG mamma "in need" before.

Desperately needed baby clothes, so I sent a giant box full.

Then turned around and sold them on BG and THEN turned around and made more threads asking for baby clothes  

It is a sweet and kind idea though!

This is why i dislike most people. :/ sorry someone did that to you.
But yes this is a wonderful Idea, one day when I have the extra money I will for sure be doing things like this

My personal theory is that's on them. I am doing my best to screen members requesting assistance but I'd rather send it then not send help. Karma works both ways

This happened to a friend of mine on here. She donates to people on BG and she sent them some clothes and they turned around and sold them on craigslist. It sucks that people are like that but how do you know who is really in need of help and who isn't, you know?
