Absolutely just buy one that is convertible and says both rear facing and forward facing
we switched our daughter to the myride 65 at 4 months. She rear faced until a year and half, she weighs 31 pounds. most convertible seats will rf till 30-35 pounds
It's recommended to rf till at least the age of two.

I just got a MR65. Figured by the time he's 65lbs I'll just get a different seat. His happy ass is rear facing until he hits 40/40.
