any algebra whiz's out there?

my little sister has a few problems for homework.
she didn't pay attention in class, she doesn't have her book, and she doesn't even know what these are called.
I can't remember exactly how to do them..it's been years lol.

I know you're supposed to combine the x's...but i can't remember what to do with the y's..
and she is supposed to graph them. we did all our graphing on calculators in high school!

here is one...i feel it should be really easy lol.

y=x2+y=-x+2

i started like this..put them in parenthesis to make it easier on my eyes
so
(y = 2x) + (y = -x+2)
the i combine the x's?
so i get 1x. or just x.
so then would it be y = x + 2?
which would then combine to be y = 2x?
or would you combine the y's too?
and make it 2y=2x?
and that would be the final answer since you can't combine anything else..right?

i just can't figure out if it's 2y = 2x or y = 2x

and i definitely can't remember how to graph it....we always just put our final equation into our graphing calculator lol.
if someone can help me with this that would be fantabulous.
