I use a mixture of chicken broth and half and half with butter, nutmeg, pepper and fresh garlic and a bit of flour for the filler. For the topping I fry up my own thinly slice onions and top with almond slivers
Mushrooms and blanched green beans.
That's about it.

How do you make your mashed potatoes?
quoteposted 14th Nov
I use whole milk, sweet cream butter (unsalted) and some sourcream
Then I use fresh garlic, finely minced onions and a little bit of creamed horseradish. Then I add plenty of fresh ground pepper and a dash of salt.
I either use red potatoes, Yukon golds, or a mixture of the two.

I forgot to mention! I NEVER remove the skins. They contain the most flavor and nutrients. But I whip them up really well so you wouldn't even know they were there.
Wish I could give you measurements and amounts, but I don't follow recipes or use measuring cups. I just know from experience, and I taste as I go.

That sounds super yummy op.
This year I am making a herb roasted turkey with my grandmother's gravy recipe.
Potato salad and mashed potatoes, since mil does not like my potato salad.
Green bean casserole, with all canned stuffy since I am being rather lazy this year.
Biscuits from scratch.
Boxed stuffing since that is all my inlaws will eat.
Pumpkin Pie, mixed berry/cherry pie, and cherry cheesecake.
Some of it might get changed though, since I have been getting irked by the rude comments about my cooking. If all else fails, I will cancel people coming over and just make what I want to eat, lol.
