I'm glad you're on track. I'm glad you can afford the luxuries now. We're getting into the same boat. You seem to think I have no idea how it is to have it hard, but you're sorely mistaken. We've been right on the line when it comes to assistance for over a year, daycare is out of the question because of costs, and by the time we'd pay daycare bills, until I graduate in the spring, the cost of daycare would soak up my check, making me working be pointless.

I had nothing to say personally about the OP, or you, in case you didn't notice. All I've said is that that name was a terrible choice, I just didn't say it while farting out a rainbow of happy. I was having a smurf day, it happens. To which you said the same thing, in a different way. THEN someone else said something about using the word Ghetto being racist, and I clarified that it's not. Ghetto does not mean black people, or mexicans. It means urban, like living in the city.

You decided to jump my case and accuse me of bashing her. I never bashed her. But I thought the name was atrocious. I had people tell me the same thing about DD's name, but I brushed it off. I know the meaning behind the name, that's what matters, not someone's opinion online. But as a former assistant manager, and other managers on here have said, names like OPs often get skipped in the hiring process. I wasn't being mean, but honest. The more out in the wind the name is, the higher the chance of it getting skipped. It happens. You're the one who started bashing me on a personal level.

Yes daycare is expensive I pay 1,000.00 a month. But in order for my husband and I to have luxury things. We suck it up. We do what we need to do. It's call being a adult and being a parent.

Bringing weight into any situation IS cruel. Period. Especially when someone may or may not have been busting ass to lose weight or have a legit reason as to why they can't.

And I never said anything about the name being ghetto.   You can go back and look. I never implied it was ghetto or anything. Hell, DD's 1/4 mexican, SO's half mexican half Irish. I know all about ethnic names. DD's name is a name from Ireland, spelled differently because it was how a relatives was spelled.

Had OP said it was a family name or had meaning, no one would have said anything else.

And being an adult is knowing your limits. We know that me working wouldn't be enough to be worth it until next spring, SO, we're waiting until spring for me to go to work. SO makes more than enough for the whole house to live comfortably as is. If we needed assistance, we'd get it, because that's part of being an adult. Knowing what you can and can't afford, and cutting out the un needed luxuries for the betterment of your child. We don't need cruises or other crap like that to be happy.

Jade Lena
Jay Leah

If you like a longer first name. Some starting with J would be Jasmine, Jeanine (nickname Jay), Jaqueline, Janelle, Janet, Jeanette, Jewel, Jillian, Johanna, Jessica, Jennifer, Jocelyn, Josephine.
