Croup

My 6 yr old daughter has abnormally small airways for her age. Docs have told me this and nobody knows why. It is suspected that it is due to her having a genetic malformation that has never been seen before.The small airways have never caused any problems other than after anesthesia (she has had ALOT of surgery) and mild problems with swallowing and choking. Also she always gets "barky" with a cold or even randomly due to really bad GERD. Therefore I didn't think that ths time would be any different. Boy was I wrong.....I had to call an ambulance last night. She was gasping while holding her throat, couldn't talk and turning kind of a gray color. I have never been so scared in my life!!! If your child sounds "barky" take it seriously!!! I am still freaked out!

It helps if you bring her in a steamy bathroom just run the shower so it steams up. And bundle her up and take her outside the cold air well help to
