re: Lotas birth, delayed cord clamping and different birthing po

I googled---all the images show TINY placentas. My placenta with my son was over 6 lbs. no way in hell I'd deal with that for days. Plus, I don't know any hospitals that would go for that (I'm high risk so hospital is my only option)---will def be doing another uedicated labor but with late cord clamping (3-5 mins minimum) and daddy catching baby and big bro cutting the cord and immediate skin to skin and making sure I hold baby first!

We're doing this too!   Except I told Daniel that I'm catching him.

I'd catch, but I prefer to just feel and have my hands down there---I dot wanna drop baby and as long as I get to feel (I never felt Ax and its the one part of his delivery that I regret, not seeing/feeling as he came out)---the rest was out of my control (him having meconium) and my insanely long labor.

You've never given birth, how do you know it is painful?
And if you have an epidural, on your back you will be.
There are a lot of ways with dealing with pain other than medications.. Again, I wish I would have educated myself with my first pregnancy.
I really recommend watching Pregnant in America and Business of being Born

I am encapsulating mine as well!
I'm PTing you.. Your planned birth sounds a lot like mine, but you will be going through it first

GREAT documentaries!

As for pain management, there are a LOT of ways to reduce pain naturally---and other chemical options that don't require a needle in the spine.

He handled the birth of his other brother just fine and he died an hour later, so I feel it's important that he be there this time to know things are okay. I'll have another friend as backup to take him out IF he gets over tired or stressed, but I'm sure he'll do great! He knows it hurts to make babies come out from witnessing it with his brother and he's seen pics of him coming out of me, so he knows how it works

I'd would recommend looking up all kinds of pain management, I got an epi with #1 and it permanently messed up my back, and my epi with #2 numbed my top half

They are both on Netflix.. Really eye opening.

I had the same mind set as you.. Already planned on getting an epidural just from what I heard from others and how it's just so "amazing". I got it out of fear of the unexpected .. Mine didn't end up taking though. It really isn't THAT bad even with an episiotomy and tearing. There are just so many other ways to help deal with discomfort and I think the biggest one if your state of mind. Our bodies were made to do this, it doesn't have to be a painful experience.
