Medicaid Question...

I have insurance with my dad until I am 26 but it does not cover pregnancy. I live with my boyfriend and combined we make to much money. Do they count his income when applying, or just my income?

They count the household income. So if he is part of your household, then yes, they will count him. But the same rules do not apply for pregnancy Medicaid. If your local office won't help, go to the Health Dept. and they should be able to help.

Yeah,(at least in West Virginia) You automatically get a madicare card if you pregnant no matter what income

Its not that what I was told do when I was pregnant with my daughter , if your paying bills too. And medicaid lady told me herself do that or I wouldnt have.

Fraud is a serious offense and such a drain against the system. It's people like you who make the whole system look bad.

I don't know why they would tell you that. Here in California you have to put down everyone that lives in the house.

Most places realize the importance of pregnancy and will have a different program for pregnant women.

In California they have AIM, which is income based and you can make a pretty decent amount of income, you just have a small copay every month. Check with your state.

No no and no. It's HOUSEHOLD income, not YOUR income. He is the Father of the child, why wouldn't his income be counted? I seriously doubt anybody told you to do that because it IS fraud.

You're stupid. Plain and simple. It's fraud. And I hope you get busted. Hell I forgot to update a $40 change while I was in the hospital having my son and now have to pay all said assistance back and am suspended from help for a year! Over $40!

If it was fraud I wouldnt have done it thank you. And that was 4 years ago , I'm no longer on anything and havent been for 4 years. I did what I was told to do by the medicaid lady who filled out my paper work.
