Hospital bag. Question!

posted 13th Nov
What thing do you wish you had brought with you? What things did you pack that you never used and wish you hadn't packed?

Here's my list:

FOR BABY:
-receiving blanket (2)
-hat, scratch mittens, socks (2 of each)
-3-4 onesies/outfits (size newborn and 0-3 months)
-coming home outfit
-boppy pillow
-baby book for footprints

FOR MOM
-flip flops
-socks/slippers
-nursing bra, undies (3-5 undies, 2 bras)
-comfy after birth outfit (possibly night gown)
-bath robe (light, thin, robe)
-comfy going home outfit (sweats and tank top)
-hygiene items (all small travel size----shampoo, conditioner, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, lotion, brush, body wash, face wash, hair tie/clip, bobby pins, light makeup)
-pen
-bath towel
-pillow with colored case

LAST MINUTE THINGS
-cell phone and charger
-iPad and charger
-car seat (base installed a few days before)
-magazines (to pass induction time)

Feel free to add things or tell me not to pack something. With DD it was an emergency birth so I literally had nothing packed or ready for the hospital!
I also live literally 5 minutes (not even) away from the hospital. So I can always have DH come home and get stuff I forgot. The hospital is also right next to a 24 hour CVS.

Thanks ladies!

EDITED:
I already mailed in my insurance and hospital papers. Plus copies of my insurance card. So no need for insurance stuff.
I will have my wallet in my bag, too.

I used all of the hospital stuff so I didn't have to take a bunch of dirty laundry home and bleed all over everything.
Took my own toiletries and slippers, an outfit to wear home a pair of pajamas I never wore. A going home outfit for LO

I'm being induced and having an immediate epidural. I won't be walking around much.

I wore the ones they gave you. MUCH better than wearing my own IMO.

I wish I would of brought more candy and snacks for the room. Also a hand held massager would of been nice before I got my epi.

dont add more underwear.

use the mesh ones they give you. they hold the pads on way better, and you can throw them away every time you go to the bathroom. its much easier and more sanitary

Okay! No undies besides the ones I go in with. I'll take advantage of the hospital ones.

its really the best way to go. save your underwear for at home. you dont want to destroy / bloody up all of your panties. the mesh ones are ugly as sin, but do the job!

as for the hospital. for you. i wore a ribbed tank top and yoga pants the entire time i was in the hospital, just changed them every day! i also wore only a bikini top during labor. felt so much better.
