That's a good idea! I would've never thought of a bikini top for labor.
I may just do that.
I was thinking of just wearing a night gown (cheap one from target) then changing into comfy after birth clothes when my epidural wears off. Which will possibly another night gown or yoga pants and a nursing tank.

Oh! The one I have is pretty thin. I never wore one with DD but I believe I was cold once I was in my actual room (not labor room). I'll go buy one that's a little thicker.
February 15. My doctor suggested I start a list early and pack mid January. I've been going into per term labor since I was 16 weeks so he wants me to be prepared. I'm hoping (it's doubtful though) that I can talk my OB out of my induction and push it as close to my due date as possible. I mentioned that at my appointment last week and he just kind of looked at me and said "we will see" in this 'ain't going to happen' voice.

the bikini top was a life saver. it was so much more comfortable than that stupid gown. after i had my son, i put a tank top over the bikini and put some underwear on. the epidural line is totally compatible with it too. i took a top that tied around the neck and again at my back, dont know if that makes a difference

good luck and congrats!

lol i didn't think about this in the hospital but i eventually wore them to bed instead of sports bras since they can absorb more. my sheets were no longer soaked when i woke up

Yes make sure to take warm clothes. If you end up having a csection (not saying it's going to happen but good to be prepared) Then they will make you walk up and down the halls to avoid blood clots. I had hubby bring me warm fuzzy slippers so I could just use those and no shoes! Also, I bought all travel size toiletries and forgot shampoo, so my hair looked greasy as hell even when I would shower. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TOILETRY LIST! The shower there may be the first you get in awhile. I had to block out times for SO to keep the baby so I could enjoy a shower in peace.

Haha ditto! They were the best. I brought my own underwear and pajamas and bled through everything, so I ended up using the mesh undies and hospital gowns anyway. If I was up walking around, they would take a second hospital gown and put it on me backwards like a robe so my butt was covered. I honestly feel like I overpacked...they provide everything in the hospital, and we live really close so I can always send DH home for anything.

This time I'm probably bringing:
going home clothes for baby and I (sweatpants and a long-sleeved tshirt for me)
hair ties & a headband
slipper socks
comfy nursing bra
chapstick and probably some travel-size toiletries
maybe a robe in case it's cold (it will be December)
cell phone & charger
digital camera & extra batteries
NOOK

Not going to bother with my own PJs and underwear just to possibly ruin them again, or makeup/hair products...I don't think anybody expects you to look fabulous after giving birth

Yeah that's true! I definitely don't remember being cold last time. I was perfectly comfortable in just the hospital gowns...the ones at our hospital aren't bad. Good for nursing actually.

Quoting shes*almost*one!:" dont add more underwear. use the mesh ones they give you. they hold the pads on way better, and you can throw them away every time you go to the bathroom. its much easier and more sanitary "
SO AGREE!!!
