Make sure you ask kmart in your area if there closing down first. Here around me all kmarts are closing down so they arent doing lay a way.

TJMaxx (and I assume Marshall ) does layaway. 10% down or $10, which ever is greater. Then you have 30 days to pay it off. You can put anything in besides jewelry and some won't allow furniture or breakables (depends on the store).

I had no idea either of those stores did layaway! I love both for the clothes.

weird. maybe they differ from store to store.

a couple things i put on layaway were on sale and i gotthe things for that price. i know they just wouldn't let me put clearance things on there.

I'm pretty sure they all do. I just got a job there... I think we don't put clearance things on layaway... but the prices are great without being "clearance" so it's all good.

The $5 you got back, is the layaway fee you pay at the beginning. So technically the layaway is free, so long as you actually finish paying it off

What the heck! Lol Yeah we definitely made a big deal because they were having this huge toy sale, plus all their baby stuff was on sale, too. Sales, not clearances, and the workers were like "Yeah, you can't put ANYTHING on layaway that is on sale." I got really mad and hormonal lol

lol! I would have gotten upset too. they always have sales. before I did layaway they said everything in the store can be put on layaway.

Does kmart have a limit? I think each item you put on layaway at walmart has to be $15 or more but does kmart have a limit?
