You'd be amazed of the ignorance of teens with google actually. And you are assuming that she had access to one as well. Also saying what you would, and would not do in a situation is pretty difficult because you are not in that situation.

No a grand jury made that choice. Grand juries often indict cases that have no chance of standing up in court.

Actually many 14 year olds don't either. The brain is not fully developed for sometime, and they don't usually grasp the full extent of the consequences.
