Should I Even Take Her Seriously?

Excuse me for being a post whore this morning.

All my kids just came in the livingroom. My 2 yr old was standing in the doorway looking in the kitchen.

DD, 4: "Um, mommy, somebody is in our kitchen"
Me: "Who?"
DD: "I dont know their name"
Me: "Are they still there?" (I am confused because my kids know not to open the doors for people and I dont know who would just walk in my house and the door is locked)
DD: *just looks at me*
Me: "Bay, if you are lying, you are in trouble"
DD: *looking terrified* "No, mommy! I am not kiddin'. Somebody really is in our kitchen. They said my mommy was stupid and turn around and left through the door"

She has my freaked out and I have no idea if I should even take her seriously or not.  

Imaginary friend?

She sounds like an imaginative kid.

I would go around making sure everything is locked, just in case.

your daughter probably believes she saw someone. I wouldn't say anything else about it unless she brings it up again.

I would believe her. She probably thought she saw something. Doesn't mean she is making it up though.

Hopefully just an overactive imagination. I think you would have heard a door open or close if there was someone actually there, but I wouldn't like the whole, "mommy is stupid" thing.

There is only 2 ways to get in my house. Livingroom door and kitchen door. No one came through the livingroom door. i was in here. I went to the kitchen and no one was there. I hope she was just being creative, but I am curious about the whole stupid thing.
