I am sure it isn't..even on here women have admitted they would rather have C sections then go through labor. Its a fact. I know of 3 friends who chose to have a c section cause they didnt want to go through labor again. I didnt say ALL women. My first son I ripped and had over 100 stitches. I was in pain for 2 weeks and could barely walk..but I still would rather go thought the pain of pushing then have a c section.

Me too. My sister in law had a csection because her first was. She could barely move for a week or so after because she hurt so bad. I wouldnt want that at all. Rather take the 2 hours of pain rather than days worth!

Same here!! Thats why I dont get why some choose to have c sections..Buck up and bare that pain, push and then its all done! I have one friedn who had c-sections, cause she had to. SDhe is upset she never got to actually give birth. She hated the c section. Well she didnt listen to the DR and she suffered for it haha..said she went poo when she really didnt!

Yep and my son and I are victims of this...pressured into an unnecessary induction that caused stress and led to a C..

Granted I should've educated myself more on it instead of listening to my ob and family..

*sigh* Its hard to let it go

Quoting Lil princess and Bambino:" Are they saying that more people did during repeat c sections then a vbac?"

They're saying that more people die from c-sections in general, rather than vaginal birth. With the rise in c-sections, maternal death rates have also risen.

The Business of being born talks about doctors doing c-sections because there fast and can be home in time for dinner and are more likely to want to do a C-section if its in the evening and you've still haven't given birth.

I'm from the UK where healthcare is free so it's in our doctor's interests to SAVE money. Here inductions and elected c sections are rare and only done if a medical issue is involved. Why? Because natural birthing is way less expensive of course. If a woman can push out her baby with little to no medication then they're saving £££££££. Where-as in the USA the doctors and hospital bosses want to make $$$$ and therefore encourage women to have as many drugs and as many procedures during birth as can be. It's really no coincidence that the countries with free healthcare have low induction and c section rates.

Quoting ☮ Phuket:" c sections are deff over used.. its a cycle.. moms in labor. Oh let giver her pitocin to "speed ... [snip!] ... 5ike we have been for thousands of years.. we wouldnt have such a big ass population if we couldnt birth babies naturally..."
I agree! I know if wouldn't have induced would've had a natural birth, instead I had to get a c-section, I got induced because I was low in water so they said and that my baby was small, weighting around 4 to 5 pounds, he was born 6 pounds 12 oz so def think it is over used they look for any excuse for a c-section they want everything done on their schedule, I for one HATE the doc that delivered my baby, he was an ASS ughh
