Tatter Tot wont sleep for a month...

Hello everyone. I'm needing some advice, my 2 and half year old son has decided in the past month to no longer take naps at daycare, fights with us to eat dinner, and also wont sleep at night but a few hours. it seems that every night he'll go to bed at his routine time of 8pm and wake up at midnight or 1am telling me he wants more milk. weather i give it to him or not he fights with me to stay up, as if that was his nap, and you can tell he is no longer tired until it gets to be time to go to daycare.
things i have tried, making him eat something anything at dinner figuring his belly is empty and this wakes him up. no successes. with that in play i have tried soothing, til it got to the point of letting him cry in his room which he would throw a fit for hours. at this point the entire house is now WAKE, DH, DS, and DS, plus me.
I'm not sure what to do need advice. everyone say let him cry but that isn't helping or working...

try letting him eat as he runs around and plays. I know he will eventually need to learn to eat at the table with everyone else but until he starts eating regularly, I'd let him do it on his terms. Toddlers have funny little eating habits, they are grazers so it's often best to let them eat on the go.
as for the sleep, you can talk to your pedi about melatonin. It's natural and often VERY helpful. You can get it OTC and in chewable form.
Good luck, I hope things get better!

thanks wombie! yeah my autistic some is on that and some times in cases where i have to get up really really early for work i do give him some. but it hasn't seem to help that much, i'll try the eatting thing.
thanks taste the rainbow, i think that might help to so he can just always snack. he is small for his age but he seems to want to eat ALOT of small meals. he must just be really hungry and growing!
