Toddler *waking up bawling

posted 13th Nov
More often than not my 2 1/2 year old son has been waking up all of hours the night bawling his eyes out. I have no idea why, he's not sick, he's well fed and drinks a pretty good amount. Every time he wakes up he's crying for something else. Whether it be for me, his dad, milk, cartoons or something to eat. Has anyone had this happen to their toddler? Is there anything I could do to make it stop? He has always been a great sleeper so I don't know whats gotten into him lately (the past month I'd say)

my son tried pulling this, he is 2 also the first night I gave in then i realized he was doing it again. My husband and I leave a cup of water for him and he'll drink it and if he continues to cry we just tell him its sleeping time. He gets the idea now and does not wake up anymore. it takes time and patience but if you keep giving in he will think its ok.

My DD did this too at that age. Most of the time she didn't Santos to touch her or talk to her and she would just scream. So when she would wake up I would go into her room and let her know I was there if she needed me and I'd go back into my room while she cried for a few minutes before she settled down an went back to sleep

Its soo hard to just let him cry, and most of the time he won't stay in bed and wakes everyone up! He usually ends up in bed with us in the end but maybe I'll try to just wait it out next time. Thanks for all your input ladies

My 3 year old has been doing this since he was 6months old. when i broight it up to his pedi they said iy sounded like night terrors. the best way to tell is if when you try to touch him he will push you away and continue to scream. sounds like this might be whats going on. does he kinda just snap out of it after a few minutes?

My SO said the same thing! He usually calms down when he gets what he wants   and then needs to be cuddled by his dad.

Maybe you could buy him a dream catcher. my parents did that when i was little and explained to me what it was for and i barely ever woke up at night after that.
