sleeping on back

If you're comfortable, it's usually fine. They say not to because the position of the baby can make it harder for you to breathe, and it's possible that you may swell.

I laid on my back and even on my stomach for quite some time.

I always sleep on my back. The only thing it is does is "stop" blood flow to the legs. So you may wake up with swollen feet. Other than that you should be okay.

Try putting a pillow on one side of you back so you're laying on your back but not really. If that makes sense.

It may or may not restrict your blood flow, that's why it's not recommended. It's perfectly fine to do though. You're sleeping it's not like it's something you consciously do.

My midwife said as long as you're at a slight tilt so if you put a bunch of pillows behind you, you can lay on them.

You should NOT sleep on your back- If your having issues from doing so, prop yourself this makes the difference!

I slept on my back when pregnant with my first. I still sleep on my belly with this pregnancy. I'm only 25 weeks I'll continue until I feel uncomfortable.

I slept on my belly till I couldn't anymore and then slept on my back. My midwife said as long as I was comfortable I was fine. And you can't control rolling to your back while you're asleep. You and baby will be fine.

My midwife told me not to worry as long as I was falling asleep on my side and there wasn't any swelling and/or pain.

Eventually I got a pregnancy wrap around body pillow and I never slept on my back anymore.

I find it terribly uncomfortable, so I put my body pillow under me to tilt me a little bit.

i'm about 30 weeks and i sleep on my back sometimes. when i sleep on my sides i usually wake up with really terrible hip pain and knee pain on that side.
