About to pull my hair out

posted 13th Nov
I'm gonna run away! Seriously! I can't take mornings anymore. Hubby leaves by 6:30 every morning and I need to leave by 6:45. Every damn morning my 5 year old is dragging her feet, not getting dressed or out of bed, eating her cereal one piece at a time while her 17 month old sister is hanging on my shirt or leg screaming her face off for me to hold her. I'm late for work every day because we can't leave on time, ever. My husband says I need to get up earlier. Wtf? I wish just one day he could be in my shoes for the morning. Then he would see why I want to run away sometimes. I'm so frustrated. I hate yelling in the morning (or any other time) but it seems to be the only thing that works!

I think he's right. If they're making you run late, then get up earlier. Sounds like it will be fun adding a newborn to the mix, won't it?

why cant he help out a little if the time frame difference of you both leaving is only 15min? he obviously has to get up earlier and they are his children as well.
If that isnt an option then yes I agree that you may need to wake up a little earlier to get what you need done and what kind of job do you have that allows you to be late every morning?

I just have a great, very understanding boss who knows that I make up the time or stay late to get things done. Thankfully he's seen my dedication to my job and understands family things.

The night before get as much as you can done: lay out clothes, pack lunches/backpacks/diaper bags or whatever, put shoes by the door, etc. Give them something quick to eat in the morning or let them eat oatmeal in a mug on the way to school, put the 17 month old in her highchair and let her eat fruit or whatever so she's not hanging on you. Find out where you're wasting time. If you get up at 5 there's no reason not to be ready by nearly 7

Try setting up things and laying out clothes the night before etc. Hubby might try to do what he can to help! Also, try cereal bars for breakfast on the GO and just maybe 15 minutes earlier if that does not help..I stay on a routine & have for many yrs. you have to not with just having a bunch of babies, but when you have a Infant/toddler with older siblings!
