CIO for toddlers?

Alright, I'll admit it. My son used to get his way for bedtime and that was a bad idea and I'm facing the consequences. My son is two and has issues sleeping alone and he wakes up a lot in the middle of the night. I'm trying CIO starting tonight but want to know if you've done this. How long did it take till your toddler slept through the night? Any tips?

Took my daughter on and off a whole month. I was in early pregnancy and knew I had to do this so by the time the new baby came, it was easier. But at first i'd sleep with her on her bed, then leave. But she'd worry in the middle of the night and come back in the room.

For some reason us sleeping in the living room worked. For 2 weeks-ish, I slept on the recliner, while she slept on the the floor on top of a lot of blanket and her sleeping bag. Plus, I liked sleeping the that chair.

She eventually got use to sleeping by herself and slept in her own bed by herself too.
