At home male fertility kits???
posted 13th Nov
My SO had his sperm count checked approx 3 years ago when he and his wife at the time were TTC. Dr said count was very high but due to her fertility issues they had a m/c and never conceived. Now that we have decided to TTC he is worried about his fertility and wants to make sure everything is ok on his end before we TTC. He is afraid of going through another m/c which is understandable. I guess what I am trying to see is if it is worth the money to purchase one of these kits even if just for his peace of mind???

SO found one at Walgreens.com for 29.99...I've never heard of them before.

Ah I think for that low of a cost, if it will ease his fears and make him feel better it would definitely be worth it I have not had experience with them myself but I am sure you can find plenty of reviews online to figure out which brand is best.

No drug store test will be anything like an actual sperm test.
If he is really concerned then I'd suggest just getting it done at the doctors.
Male fertility has peaks and lows too.

A SA won't be able to tell if your husband is a contributor to miscarriage risk. Only a genetic work up would be able to do that and even then it's pretty rare for the cause to be on the man's end.

We've both previously had genetic testing done in our previous marriages. I think the big thing for him is being over protective of me and not wanting me to go through the experience like his previous wife did.

I'm really considering it. They're not that expensive and it can't really hurt anything. If it makes him feel better than its worth it.
