What BOOK do you read with your kid?

posted 12th Nov
I'm looking for people who have older kiddos, maybe 6-10 yrs?
We read every night, and kinda just read from our 52435345 children's book selection,
he has a couple chapter books, but they're like, graphic novels too.

What are some good classic chapter books to read with/to a new reader?
My son's a first grader, i was thinking maybe one of my old favorites

Any other suggestions?

We finished Charlotte's Web a couple months ago, then took a break from big chapter books for a couple months. Now we are reading Stuart Little. I have a few different Berenstein Bear chapter books.
Inkheart series.
The Hobbit
My friend has started the Harry Potter series with her 7 yr old.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
I have a couple others, but my mind has gone blank for some reason

Shel Silverstein- Where the Sidewalk Ends.
It was my favorite as a child, and now my kiddos love it! DS is 4 and DD is 2, but the poems are so silly that they laugh and enjoy them.

Love those both   Definitely making a list of books we need to read. I think all my old chapter books like that are still at my parent's house

Oh man, i'm not a harry potter fan, but my mom is, so my son's seen all the movies when he goes over there, haha. I should get him the books too!

he would probably love it! i don't know how good he is at reading, but you won't have to read them ALL to him lol you could get him the set and by the time you two finish the first or second one, i'm sure he will be able to read the rest on his own!
