I totally agree.

People have this allegiance to party and could care less if it's bad for the country. I wish our government would work together and come up with actual solutions. I guess, in a way, I honestly believe the politicians fight to keep their constituents fighting...that way we'll all be too busy fighting to notice that they're looting the treasury and screwing us all over.

I know you are generally not very left leaning but have you ever seen Dylan Ratigans rant on MSNBC about how our savings, our money, our livelihood is being extracted from us every day by the bought Congress that was supposedly elected to serve us?

I completely agree with his entire stance. Others tend to think he's loony. lol

You mean since 1860. The South seceded mainly in part because of the election of Lincoln and started the process a few days after the election results were posted and had all seceded by February 1861, just one month after his inaguration.

I have a family friend who is a lobbyist. He says the cycle is: business gives politician money for campaign, politician gets into office and legislates to help business make more money, business uses the extra money to give back to the politician at the next election, etc, etc

And the middle class are the poor saps who are paying for it.

While I don't agree with secession when one doesn't like their interim leader, its better than the alternative, yes.

People need to vote for senators and congressmen who truly have our best interests in mind. I don't understand how congress has a 10% approval rating, yet the same morons keep getting elected.

Because if history repeats itself, we are not going to allow states to seceed peacefully from our country. We will fight ourselves. Again.  

I would be more afraid for the states that seceed and their ability to defend themselves from other threats.

But then people are too complacent to hold their representatives accountable.

Maybe people will wake up after the economy collapses.
