That AND I have another 24 hour urinalyses to do again. So not looking forward to that. Any news on you mommas ?"</blockquote>

I had my appt today too...I'm 3 1/2cm dilated and 70% effaced...baby's really low but when he touches the head it floats away so it's not engaged...I'm so happy I'm almost 35 weeks, to bad I had to see a different doc cause mine got put on bed rest.

I had my almost 37 week appointment yesterday. It took awhile to find her heartbeat because she was being a stubborn butt. Got the Group B Strep culture done and since I haven't had a call, I'm assuming I passed it. She's still head down, but hasn't dropped. Nothing is going on with my cervix yet, but hopefully that changes in the next couple of weeks. I have a feeling I'll be going overdue because this baby is so stubborn.

sounds like some of you are getting certain tests, checks and ultrasounds that I don't think I'll be getting at all even though I wouldn't mind the info and reassurance   i'm 36 weeks now and I just got the strep B swab, but other than that, my OB just checks my BP, weight, and baby's heartbeat. I'm dying to know an estimate of the baby's size, estimate of more accurate guess of due date, what's going on with my cervix - is it thinning or softening or anything? I get the impression I won't find out any of these things till I go into labor! I asked her last visit for a breakdown of what future visits will include but she didn't indicate anything. I guess I will just bug her again next week lol.

I'm hoping when I got back in two weeks I've made some progress. I don't want to have to deal with ANY induction unless I have to.

I get my tummy measured at every appointment since 20 weeks. I didn't think my doctor was going to even check me for dilation today but I was super happy she did. Now I know that i have a better chance of NOT having this one on my sons birthday!

My Strep B came back neg! yay! I was positive with my 2nd kid, and I am so glad to not have to worry about the antibiotics this time. I go this Thursday for my 37 wk appt. I get a sono and find out where I am at. Can't wait to meet this little girl!

This may sound dumb but this is my first baby lol From what I understand my doctor isn't planning another ultrasound this pregnancy & I am 34 wks so I just want to know how they will know if he is breech or not. I have a OB apt Tuesday & I kind of wanna know if I am dilated or effaced yet but I don't think my doctor will check until we are closer to my due date (Jan 25). I'm so ready to have my little man but at the same time, I do not want to share him! Haha

They can tell if the baby is head down by pressing around on your belly. That's what mine have been doing, although it would be nice to get one last ultrasound.   Mine also started checking my cervix around 34 weeks, but I think that's because I had some sort of weird reddish-pink discharge going on.

I don't have any weird colored discharge but I might just tell her I do! lol

If not, it couldn't hurt to ask to be checked.

I'm kind of nervous though because a girl I used to work with said it hurts pretty bad to be "checked" the first couple times but by your 2-3rd hour of labor you're just like "Whatever." lol

I don't find that it hurts but it don't feel good either. In my opinion it's uncomfortable

There are two OBs at the place I have my appointments and I prefer having the woman check me because it's not as bad with her. With the guy, he REALLY gets up in there and it doesn't feel good, lol.
