Could my daughter be in the delivery room?

just a question i figured id ask .. i found out i was pregnant with my third child ( my second pregnancy ended up in miscarraige ) about 2 days ago, im going to go to the doctors sometime this week but id say im due around july 2nd or so ... making my daughter almost two years old. could my daughter and my mother be in the delivery room with me ? just curious.

i am pretty sure she can... but that sounds stressful and horrible and no place for a toddler.

Check your hospitals policies. I'm looking into it for my dd but shell be 5.

She can be but it could be a very traumatic experience for her... You would need someone available to take her if she can't handle it

My daughters birthday is July 2nd

That's really no place for a young toddler. I wouldn't have my two year old in the room with me. I don't want him to see me like that. Knowing him, it would make him very upset. My 4 year old, I'd have her join me in a second.

true , i just figured id ask. just trying to plan ahead i think id rather her be babysat at home while im delivering the new baby and then she could come see her new brother/sister after i give birth at regular visiting hours.

My daughter was near two when I had my second. She was 19 months. I had her stay with a friend and then her and the friend came to the hospital after I gave birth.

i mean it has his disadvantages and advantages , but yes it could be traumatic and i wouldnt want her seeing me like that, it could get her upset. so i think im going to stick to a a babysitter (:
