SCARED!

i am soooo scared to be a mom. I'm afraid that im not going to be a good mom even tho i get told i am going to be a great mom all the time because i am great with kids. i have nightmares all the time where horrible things happen to my daughter and theres nothing i can do to help her. i wake up crying and shaking from thos nightmares. i mean i've changed and grown up a lot for my daughter. but i've only held a newborn once and i cried cuz she moved her head and i thought i broke her neck! which i didnt but it freaked me out. i never thought i would be a mom , before i got pregnant i didnt want kids and now i wouldnt take to back for anything! shes my world im just soooo scared. did anyone elts go through this.

What you're fearing is perfectly normal. Reading parenting books eased my mind a little, but dont put so much stress on yourself. No one is a perfect parent, believe me, once she is here your mommy instincts will kick in. You'll just know what to do.

I didn't even like babies. Only held one once. No frickin clue how to be a mom.

And I think I'm doing an awesome job.

It's normal to be scared. Have you thought about taking a parenting class? Maybe that will help ease some of those fears.

I've also only held a newborn once before.. I've held babies ofc, like 3-4 months and up, but my time holding a newborn, she was practically forced into my arms by my friend after I told her I was scared to hold her lol. I'm scared too.. I started hyperventilating earlier when I realized I only have 5 weeks and 2 days until my due date. It's going super fast and I feel really unprepared even though I have everything I need.  

i felt the same way you did.i thought that i wpuld be a terrible mom, and i didnt think i could do it. but then when i held my son for the first time, i knew i was going to be a terrific mom! just keep your head high and know that your child will always love you, and that you are the best mom ever.

Pretty sure every new mom goes through this whether it is your first or your 5th. If you weren't worried about screwing up, that would be concerning. The fact that you are so worried shows that you will take extra care at being a good mommy. You will be great. There is no way to be a perfect mom but thousands of ways of being a great mom, and your daughter is going to think you are supermom!   Chin up!

Take a friend with you or family member. I doubt anyone will be judging you, they are there for the same reasons you are. It wont hurt to be a little prepared for when your LO comes.

i will ask around and see if anyone wants to go. i asked my mom a few weeks ago but she has to work so she couldnt do it but it couldnt hurt to ask. =]

it is so much more different when it's your own child...whenever I held a newborn before I had my son they would cry and I would tense up, the second I held my son it was so natural. Life as a mother comes so naturally for some women...you'll always fear you're going to be a bad mom. That fear is NEVER going to go away until they've either succeeded fully in life or have done something amazing.
