When TTC...

Is it best to track your cycle and have sex only on your most fertile days.... or is it better to just have as much sex as you can whenever you can?
lol.... I'm still really new to this TTC stuff. My last pregnancy was the result of the one time we had sex without protection... so I thought I'd be able to get pregnant right away when I started TTC. Apparently not   I know it can take ages.... I just want to make sure I'm doing it right I guess. Last month AF was early by about a week. AF isn't due now for another week, but there was a tiny bit of pinkish brown mixed with some clear gunky stuff (gross right?) when I wiped this afternoon.... so now I'm all paranoid AF is coming early again   I hate waiting....

I wouldn't go extremely hardcore with it.

Tracking is fine but those estimates are based on a perfect cycle; no online ovulation calculator can tell you when you're ovulating.

Get some opks. I actually like the wondfos (internet cheapies) from Amazon.
The instructions are pretty clear. I think they're fairly easy to use but some women have trouble interpreting the lines to determine whether they are having their LH surge or not.

Anyways sorry for rambling.

As for the sex, we had sex once a day during my fertile period with my son that passed away. With my living son, we had sex just a few the day I got my LH surge and about 2-3 days after that.

I did try with the OPK tests for a while... but I don't know if I got dodgy ones or not... they never came up with a second line. So I gave up on using them. I can't buy from Amazon... it tells me it wont ship to my address   I buy cheapies from ebay though.

The article reading part of me says do it every 2-3 days to cover your bases, but the part of me that's been trying for over a year and knows it gets frustrating as hell says just have sex and if you know when you ovulate definitely do it a few days before and during. Don't limit sex to only fertile days, it's no fun for hubby.

We're only on our second month. How have you kept sane trying for so long? I feel like I'm going insane already. Our first month we tried just doing it on fertile days. But seeing as that didn't work, we tried just doing it whenever this month. But apparently that hasn't worked either   I was hoping it might have just been implantation bleeding, but I don't think it is. If I had of known it would take a while to conceive, I would have started trying sooner

To be honest I haven't. I'm fighting getting depressed from trying so long. I am having either ovulation bleeding or just some irregular spotting this morning, just noticed it. I normally wouldn't ovulate this early, but I stopped charting and yesterday my right side has a twinging feeling, so we BDed last night anyway. We cover our bases, usually after two days without sex my sex drive is driving me crazy anyway.
