Night Time sleep help??

posted 12th Nov
I just need some advise and we have tried several options and seam to not find and option... our 3 yr old will not go to sleep unless we have the tv on or play a movie.. and thats fine with us.. we put a timer on it and goes off after say 1hr.. NOW.. in the middle of the night she will wake up crying bcuz the tv is off and comes to our room asking us to turn on if not she wont stop crying... thus waking up her baby sister... we are at a loss... how can we get her over this..

She does have a night light and moon light shines into her room so darkness is not an issue... anyone else struggle with this?? I want to let her cry it out but i feel bad.. we go confort her but wont go to bed without tv and yet dont want her getting used to that since she wont be paying the bill... LOL any advice would be great thanks momma's!!

get a dreamlight?

Cora uses her iPod to watch netflix if she wakes up too early. Maybe get her a tablet or iPod touch to watch?

Okay I may get judged for this, but my kids were the same way and would never sleep through the whole night, I decided to ask a Doctor and they recommend Melatonin... I get the 3mg it helps and its been a life saver

it took alteast a year to get my daughter used to not watching a tv at night. it was the best thing I did. Although it took forever she sleeps so much better now & I feel like its a better sleep because when she doesnt wake up she doesnt stay up to watch tv she rolls over & goes right back to sleep. It used to take her hours to fall asleep all the tv does it keep them up longer she is out within 10 minutes of getting into bed now. try a fan for noise & still to no tv & she will learn to sleep without it.

This! That's not benefitting her in any way. Tell her that the TV is broken or something. She will eventually fall asleep without the TV being on. She can't stay awake forever....maybe try a radio or something? She probably just needs some background noise.

DD has a classical lullaby CD that plays on repeat in her room. Always has, even when we travel we just take an iPod instead.

Ok mine is only 15months but she has a mobile that when she could sit the top comes off, and turns into a music box / projector. Plays 20 minutes. It shows the animals on the ceiling and blah blah it's easy so she can just stand up, push the button, and go back to sleep. i've heard her do it during the night already if she unsettles. It's been amazing. I think i would look for something like that? some kind of projector that plays music? she's quite attached to this music box so who knows when i can take it off the crib but it's batteries and such so much easier than a tv.
